Description

The purpose of the home respite service is to provide parents of children and adolescents with various disabilities relief in their daily lives, either on a one-time basis or regularly.

This is done by temporarily supporting the child/adolescent in their home environment. Through respite, parents can dedicate time to their own activities for a granted number of hours/occasions.

Job Responsibilities

The work of the respite provider is planned based on the needs identified in the caseworker's assessment. You should create safety, joy, and comfort for the person you are supporting. As a respite provider, you will work with the child/adolescent in their home or local area. This may involve playing, walking, playing games, crafting, or watching movies. It may also include personal care, dressing and undressing, support during meals, etc.

The work also includes collaboration with parents through regular dialogue and cooperation with the client through ongoing check-ins.

Before your final employment, you will meet the person(s) you are intended to support and will receive an introduction/shadowing.

Qualifications

Since you will be working independently, it is required that you are a confident person with a strong work ethic and good communication skills.

A driver's license may be a requirement.

We value if you have any of the following qualifications:

  • Approved high school education from the Child & Leisure Program, Health and Care Program with a focus on disabilities, or trained support assistant.

It is an advantage if you have similar experience or other experience in care work.

Great importance will be placed on personal qualities.

If you have previously been employed by Kungälv Municipality, internal references will be taken.
