Seasonal Employment at the Cemetery Administration!

The Southern Lapland Parish includes the Dorotea-Risbäck, Lycksele, Stensele, Vilhelmina, and Åsele-Fredrika congregations. The parish has about 100 employees working with everything from services, teaching, social work, administration, and information to cemetery maintenance.

The Cemetery Administration is responsible for the operation and maintenance of burial sites and cemeteries within the included congregations.

We are looking for staff for several locations, see below.

Job Responsibilities

You will be part of a work team led by a supervisor in consultation with the cemetery manager.

Your main tasks will involve the care and maintenance of cemeteries and burial sites, as well as other green areas and properties. Duties include lawn mowing, weeding, hedge trimming, minor landscaping work, planting, and maintenance of grave borders, as well as other related tasks.

You will work outdoors regardless of the weather.

Various types of machinery and vehicles are used as tools in daily work.

Education/Experience

- High school education or other training or experience deemed equivalent by the employer.

- Class B driver's license.

- Good physical condition as the work is physically demanding with heavy lifting and sometimes repetitive tasks.

Desirable Qualifications

Training and experience in gardening, park work, and landscaping are advantageous, especially previous work at a burial site.

Knowledge of working with and maintaining grounds maintenance machinery.

About You as a Candidate

We are looking for someone who is flexible, responsible, proactive, and organized, and who has good physical fitness, as the job involves manual labor. You should be able to work independently as well as in a team. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Our cemeteries are visited by people at different stages of life, and it is important that you can meet cemetery visitors based on their situation.

Other Information

The position is a fixed-term employment, with most positions during the period from April 28 to October 31, exceptions may occur regarding both start and end dates.

The position includes wellness benefits.

Salary according to agreement.

The Southern Lapland Parish has collective agreements with Kommunal, Vision, KyrkA, the Academic Union SSR/Akavia, and the Swedish Teachers' Union/KMR.
