The Stockholm West area in the picturesque Ekerö municipality includes the open prison Svartsjö and the partially open women's prison Färingsö, as well as the remand facility Färingsö. About 170 employees and ten managers manage, lead, and develop the operations that accommodate approximately 270 inmates. The largest professional group is prison officers, but there are also healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, etc. The inmates are engaged in education, various treatment programs, or wood and craft industry and packaging/assembly. The inmates also run an ecological farm with grain cultivation and animal husbandry. The two prisons are just a stone's throw from each other and can be reached by bus or car. At both facilities, you can park for free in our staff parking.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Having a job is an important part of preparing for a daily life after serving a sentence; at the same time, the inmate gains daily routines and practice in collaborating with others. At the Svartsjö and Färingsö facilities, inmates work in wood and craft industry and packaging/assembly. The inmates also run an ecological farm with grain cultivation and animal husbandry, as well as a farm shop that sells plants and crafts grown or produced at the facility.

We are now looking for you who want to become one of our approximately 20 production leaders who, together with our inmates, are responsible for driving and developing our operations in horticulture, assembly, and packaging.

As a production leader, you have an important and versatile role. You plan, set goals, follow up, guide, and document the inmates' work within our various production branches. You are also responsible for ensuring that facilities, tools, and machines are in good condition and function as they should.

Part of the assignment also involves contact with our customers; you ensure that delivery plans are followed and that production quality is maintained at a high level. At the same time, you collaborate closely with other professional groups at the facility to support the inmates' development and contribute to a meaningful workday.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure and stable. You should have an easy time collaborating with others and possess good pedagogical skills. You are used to adapting your communication based on the recipient's conditions and handle conflicts constructively and with a positive outlook.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Experience in carpentry, construction, manufacturing industry, gardening, or other craft professions
  • Good Swedish in both spoken and written form
  • Driving license (B)

It is advantageous to have:

  • Experience as a supervisor or mentor
  • Experience in correctional services, security work, social care
  • Forklift license

To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the fundamental values of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service regarding a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and the belief that people can develop. You should also be aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally with your approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Interviews will be held at Svartsjö on May 15-16.
