Oncology and Hematology Inpatient Care

The oncology department has ten beds for adult patients diagnosed with cancer across all specialties and malignant hematological diseases.

With us, dedicated employees work in care teams, from a holistic perspective around the patient and their relatives. The team includes doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and social workers. Staffing is optimized to work based on person-centered care.

We are now looking for a nurse for a permanent position.

Your Responsibilities

Look here if you are a licensed nurse and want to develop in your profession! You now have the chance to become part of our team. To make it as optimal as possible for the patients and their relatives, we rely on the collective abilities of the entire team.

As a nurse, you are one of the key persons in care to achieve symptom relief for patients in curative or palliative stages. You will also be an important person in contact with relatives and other close ones around the patients. As a nurse, you have care responsibility for the care surrounding the patient.

Many of our patients have pumps for symptom relief, and as a nurse, you will be responsible for monitoring and refilling these. Sometimes, chemotherapy treatment will be relevant in the department, and if you do not have that competence, we offer training before you need to administer, give, and manage chemotherapy. Some telephone advice is also included in your assignment; during on-call time, patients receiving treatment in the unit's day care and patients enrolled in the Palliative team have the opportunity to call the department.

Work in our unit is, in other words, varied and developing. Some situations require quick action, and sometimes it is important to dedicate extra time to a patient or a relative.

We use Take Care for documentation. A fixed schedule is offered, and we work every other weekend.

Who are you?

You are a licensed nurse. If you have relevant specialist training and/or experience in oncology/palliative care, it is an advantage.

We are looking for someone who is flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. Sometimes it may be quieter in the department for a short while, only to later increase in pace. Conversation, time for “the little extra,” and having fun at work are key words for you who are applying to us. You are therefore attentive and observant and have a strong focus on the psychosocial environment. You are a secure person who can make decisions independently, dare to engage and stand firm despite difficult conversations with patients and relatives, are unpretentious, and have good collaboration skills.
