Job Responsibilities

As an HR Coordinator at the Department of Nursing, you will provide operational and consultative support to the head of the department, administrative manager, and other institutional leadership regarding personnel issues.

The work is broad and spans the entire HR field. An important part of the role is to act as a link between the department and HR specialists at the faculty, ensuring good collaboration and contributing to a unified employer stance at Umeå University.

Some administrative work and cross-institutional tasks are also included in the responsibilities. You will work both operationally and actively support management. The focus is expected to be on the following tasks:

  • Provide advice and support in the HR area based on applicable legislation, local and central agreements, policies, and guidelines to managers, program directors, and employees within the organization.
  • Coordinate and support managers in rehabilitation efforts and independently drive rehabilitation processes.
  • Actively monitor and inform and educate managers and employees about personnel and labor law issues as well as workplace environment issues.
  • In consultation with the head of the department, administrative manager, and workplace environment group, coordinate issues related to workplace environment and equal opportunity work.
  • Coordinate, administer, and ensure the quality of the department's recruitment and hiring processes.
  • Be responsible for managing hourly wage employees and intermittent contracts.
  • Work with ongoing personnel administrative tasks.
  • Be responsible for a cohesive introduction and conclusion of employees at the department.
  • Coordinate and administer collaboration with trade unions at the department.
  • Where applicable, provide support to international employees in migration matters and procedures for work and residence permits.

The tasks may develop and adapt according to the needs of the organization and may also be partially performed in other operations within Umeå University.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in human resources or education deemed equivalent by the employer. You should have good experience in broad, qualified HR work and administrative tasks. Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as well as experience working in administrative systems, particularly M365, is required for the position.

Experience in HR work within a large complex organization, preferably within a government agency, as well as knowledge of the university's organization and regulations and the labor law frameworks governing HR work within a government agency is advantageous.

About the Employment

The position is a permanent full-time employment. A 6-month probationary period may apply. Start date according to agreement.
