Investigation Unit is Hiring New Colleagues

The Investigation Unit works to investigate and provide support and interventions for children, adolescents, and their parents according to the Social Services Act and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU).

The Investigation Unit consists of about 50 employees divided into three workgroups. We operate according to the Children’s Needs in Focus (BBIC) framework, which is a unified system for social child welfare. The goal is to conduct high-quality social work with a focus on the needs of the child. Our work is based on knowledge, accessibility, continuity, participation, and a holistic perspective.

We actively work to create a workplace that provides all employees with the right conditions to do a good job. We want all operations to have a health-promoting approach, and we strive for rich job content, job satisfaction, community, and personal development for all employees.

We are part of the Professional Journey, a national competence initiative for staff in social services' authority for children and youth. As a newcomer, you will be gradually introduced to the unit's tasks. You will also receive internal and external case supervision as support in your work and for your professional development.

We are now looking for four new colleagues.

Job Responsibilities

Your main tasks will involve investigating children's needs for protection and support, as well as deciding on and following up interventions according to current legislation.

You will have a varied job with freedom under responsibility and the opportunity to influence. There is a wide mix of tasks, and no day is the same. Expect challenges in your daily work, but also stimulating, meaningful, and developing tasks alongside fantastic colleagues.

Are you the one we are looking for?

You have a good ability to act and handle situations in complex environments. The work is often unpredictable, which requires flexibility and the ability to reprioritize at short notice. In this role, you will frequently meet people in difficult life situations, so it is important that you are a secure and stable person. You are also good at taking your own initiative and have the ability to work independently and make your own decisions.

You want to actively participate in developing the organization and contribute to a good work environment. You are engaged in your tasks and can see the investigative work as part of a change process focused on children's needs and their right to a secure upbringing. You have good collaboration skills with both the families you meet and with colleagues and partners. You can see individual needs and place them in a holistic perspective.

You possess administrative skills and can express yourself well in both speech and writing. Personal suitability will be of great importance.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience in social services or similar fields. The tasks also require you to have a B driver's license.

Desirable

We would appreciate experience in qualified investigative work and authority within the field of children and youth.

Are you interested in working at the Investigation Unit for children and youth? Please submit your application to Umeå Municipality as soon as possible. The application documents should consist of a CV, cover letter, and attached diploma. Please note that selection and interviews will be ongoing.

Due to the suitability control law, a police record extract must be presented upon employment.

Welcome with your application!
