Job Advertisement: Economic Administrator and Court Clerk

Every day, hundreds of cases and matters are decided throughout Sweden. Our organization consists of employees with different competencies, each of whom is significant in maintaining legal security and high quality at all levels. As an employee at Gävle District Court, you will be offered varied and developing tasks in a socially important and exciting operation.

The work involves

Your tasks will include economic administrative duties such as bookkeeping of invoices, payment of jurors, and regular receptionist duties where you will meet the public. You will also work as a court clerk handling bankruptcies and joint applications for divorce. A day in court is varied and content-rich, and you will have a lot of contact with colleagues, the public, and the parties in the case, as well as lawyers, interpreters, witnesses, and others.

We are looking for someone who

  • Has a completed upper secondary education with a final grade/certificate or another education that the employer assesses as equivalent, preferably with an economic focus.
  • Has previous work experience in economic administration and service that the employer assesses as relevant for the position.
  • Has very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

It is meritorious if you have experience of court work or other work with a legal connection. It is also meritorious if you have experience working in any economic system. You have a strong sense of service, quality, and approachability and create good relationships with your colleagues while contributing your expertise to the group's collective work. To thrive with us, you need to handle various tasks, people, and situations, as well as have the ability to analyze and solve problems. Working with structure and maintaining a professional attitude is a given for you. During periods of high workload, you remain calm, and it is especially important that you have the ability to prioritize your work and focus on the right things. You also enjoy quickly switching between different tasks. To be considered for employment, you must meet high standards regarding judgment, security awareness, and suitability. This means standing up for democratic values and the state values that govern the operations of Sweden's Courts. We require you to follow applicable laws.

About us

Gävle District Court is a general court with Gävle, Sandviken, Hofors, and Ockelbo municipalities as its jurisdiction. The court handles civil cases, criminal cases, matters, and bankruptcies. The court has about 45 employees.

Practical information

The position is full-time, permanent with a start date of September 1, 2025. A six-month probationary period applies. We welcome your application by April 30 at the latest. The application should include a CV, a cover letter, and any other documentation that verifies your degree or completed education.
