Summer Temporary Position in Financial Assistance

There is now an opening for you who are curious about public authority work within financial assistance. We have the opportunity to give you as a student or newly graduated social worker or behavioral scientist the chance to try the profession. The summer position lasts from May/June to August 22.

Financial assistance is divided into four units. Each unit has about 20 social workers, team leaders, and a unit manager. With us, you will have an exciting and important role when you work with assessments of the right to financial assistance. You will be part of a work group with mixed experience, high competence, and a strong client focus. Here you will have the chance to learn broadly about public authority work, which provides you with a good foundation, regardless of what you want to work with in the future. Our office is located by the train station, centrally in Eskilstuna.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a social worker, you will investigate and decide on the right to financial assistance according to the Social Services Act (SoL). You will grant, follow up, and extend labor market measures based on assistance decisions such as career guidance at JobbCentrum. With us, you will meet all different target groups, ages, and types of cases. In addition to administrative work, you will support and motivate clients to become self-sufficient, for example through studies, work, or labor market measures via the Employment Service. In your work, you will collaborate with internal operations within Eskilstuna municipality as well as externally with organizations such as the Employment Service, the Region, and the Social Insurance Agency.

QUALIFICATIONS

We offer you who are studying to become a social worker or behavioral scientist and who have completed the third semester or if you are newly graduated the opportunity to practically work with public authority functions. You will work with a lot of documentation and decisions according to SoL, where your structured ability and good knowledge of the Swedish language will come in handy. Since you are fearless and have an easy time asking questions, you will develop in your role as a social worker. You also have an interest in meeting people and working motivationally, even if you may also face significant resistance. As a person, you are patient and thrive when the work pace is high.
