Sundsvall Montessori School is located near the beautiful Sidsjö area, close to both the lake and beautiful forest environments. The school currently has just over 240 students. There are four working teams at the school: F-3, 4-6, 7-9, and after-school care.

To stimulate students' development and learning, we work according to Montessori pedagogy. The pedagogy follows the child throughout their school years, from the toddler department in preschool to grade 9. We place the student at the center and strive to provide each student with the best possible conditions to develop their full potential. Work is partially conducted in age-mixed groups.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will belong to the 7-9 working team, teaching 50% in Social Studies for grades 7-9 and 50% in another subject for grades 3-9. We would prefer that you are qualified to teach music or art.

You will base your planning and implementation of teaching on the individual needs of the student to provide each student with the best possible learning situation. Mentorship is part of your role and something you see as important. You will participate in the working team's efforts, including thematic planning and quality work based on Montessori pedagogy.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a teaching degree and qualifications to teach Social Studies for ages 7-9.

You have good leadership skills in the classroom. We want you to see it as important to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You have good communication skills, clear leadership, and the ability to collaborate well. You reflect on your teaching and how it can be developed through evaluation and application of Montessori pedagogy and current research as part of the school's systematic quality work.

It is an advantage if you have Montessori training, experience, or some knowledge of Montessori pedagogy, but it is not a requirement.

You should have experience teaching in primary school.
