Description

The Emergency Department in Skövde has undergone a significant transformation as we now have a state-of-the-art facility in large, bright premises well-suited for the task! After the new construction, we can call ourselves one of Sweden's largest and most modern emergency departments, with a potential flow of about 70,000 patients per year.

A new pediatric emergency unit has been established in the new facility with its own dedicated children's track! A new radiology unit is also available adjacent to the emergency department.

The Emergency Department in Skövde is one of the region's five trauma hospitals. We handle patients in acute conditions, most of whom are treated directly at the emergency department, while some require continued care or contact with various clinics in the hospital. We receive patients with healthcare needs in medicine, surgery, orthopedics, urology, infection, pediatrics, gynecology, ear/nose/throat, and ophthalmology.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse with at least one year of professional experience in the role. Experience in emergency care is an advantage. You easily build relationships and convey security to patients during brief encounters. You enjoy working in a team with other professional categories while being independent in your profession. You meet patients, relatives, and colleagues in a trustworthy and respectful manner and have tolerance for differences. You should be flexible and able to quickly switch between different tasks without compromising quality and patient safety. With a positive attitude, you contribute to a good working climate.

Responsibilities

As a nurse in the emergency department, you will work with basic and specific nursing care for patients with acute illness and/or injury requiring specialized healthcare. Since patients' care needs vary greatly from case to case, this provides a wide range of work but also significant development opportunities for you as a nurse. You will work in a team with nursing assistants and doctors in the department. You will constantly engage with many internal and external contacts, such as other units in the hospital, public authorities, and other healthcare providers. Since improvement work is an important part of the emergency department's development, it is essential that you, as a nurse, actively participate in this work. This way, you also have the opportunity to influence work methods and your work environment.

As a nurse, you will receive a structured introduction. The advertised positions are full-time and include day, evening, and night shifts.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes introductory days, supervision and training days, and observation days. The purpose of the Clinical Foundation Year is to create good conditions for newly graduated nurses to strengthen their theoretical knowledge and practice skills while growing into their new profession.

In the event of recruiting nurses with foreign licenses, the relevant position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licensure.
