Meal Service is now looking for three chefs with special dietary knowledge for the kitchens of Hedda Andersson Gymnasium and Polhem School, who, together with colleagues, want to contribute to creating joy in meals for our guests.

About the role and your tasks

As a chef, you will plan, prepare, cook, and structure the daily work together with the entire team. As much food as possible is prepared from scratch using good ingredients, focusing on health, climate, and sustainability. Cooking and planning special diets is an important part of the job. Together with your colleagues, you will also actively participate in the development of the school restaurant's offerings and planning of operations for satisfied guests. The work also involves being involved in all tasks that occur in the kitchen. A good attitude is essential, and you will contribute to creating a great dining experience for our guests in the school restaurant.

We are looking for you

We are looking for someone who has completed a 3-year restaurant and food program or a chef training that is deemed equivalent by the employer. You have several years of experience working as a chef and handling special diets. You should be accustomed to working with self-control. If you have also completed a special diet training and have experience working with dietary data systems, we consider this an advantage.

To thrive in the role, it is important that you are flexible in your work, can work independently, and easily adapt to changing circumstances. You also have good collaboration skills and are humble and accommodating in your interactions. You have an interest in helping others as part of a team, sharing your knowledge, and staying updated in your field. You should be able to communicate fluently in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and a requirement is that you have good computer skills.

About the workplace

The Meal Service's operations include preparing meals for preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, and elderly care. Daily, about 22,000 portions are prepared by around 200 employees. Meal Service strives to provide good food, promote good eating habits, and is characterized by cooperation, good service, openness, and dialogue with our partners.

The business area consists of 46 kitchens and a meal staff. The kitchen at Hedda Andersson Gymnasium/Svaneskolan serves about 1,200 portions daily to the students at the school. In the kitchen at Hedda Andersson Gymnasium/Svaneskolan, there is a coordinator, three chefs, and five kitchen assistants.

The kitchen at Polhem School serves about 2,200 portions daily to the students at the school. In the kitchen at Polhem School, there is a coordinator, five chefs, and nine kitchen assistants.

The Service Administration meets the needs of Lund Municipality's other administrations and municipal companies for service. We have about 600 employees. Together, we work to build and manage the municipality's buildings, premises, and housing and ensure that they are intact, clean, and functioning as they should. We prepare food for the municipality's children, youth, and elderly, take care of green areas around the municipality's buildings, and manage the municipality's vehicles and transports.
