Electrician Wanted at Ö-varvet

Are you an electrician dreaming of working with electricity on boats? Do you want to be part of a daily routine where technology and craftsmanship go hand in hand in an inspiring way? Then we have the job for you!

Ö-varvet is now looking for an electrician for our Ö-hall department, where we tackle a number of exciting projects together. With us, it can involve everything from service assignments to large renovations of boats, usually between five and fifteen meters long. We work with a mix of boats – some are mass-produced, others completely unique. Here you get the chance to work with both fiberglass and aluminum boats in a creative and developing environment where each day offers new challenges.

You will:

• Perform cable routing on boats
• Manufacture and install electrical panels and custom-build cabinets with components
• Install new equipment and repair existing equipment on board
• Commission, start up, and troubleshoot electrical systems, both hardware and software
• Troubleshoot electrical installations focusing on 12/24V (DC) and 230/400V (AC) and read and understand electrical diagrams

We are looking for someone who enjoys finding solutions, understands how things work, and can troubleshoot. To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

• Education as an electrician at the secondary level or equivalent
• The ability to communicate fluently in Swedish, as well as speak and understand English.

You are self-driven and have the ability to take initiative in your work. You work in a structured and organized way, which allows you to effectively plan your tasks to achieve the best results. Collaboration skills are important to us, and we value that you contribute your ideas and can find solutions on your own. Attention to detail is a quality we appreciate, and we see that you can work with both precision and care in what you do. Additionally, we would like you to have a strong desire to learn new things.

If you have experience with electronics on boats, have worked with low voltage, and have a basic understanding of marine electronics, as well as being able to solder and troubleshoot instruments, it is a merit.

Since some of our largest customers are the Armed Forces and FMV, the person selected for the position will undergo a security clearance.

Ö-varvet is a new construction and repair/service yard that performs dry docking, repair/service, renovations, new construction, and marine electronics in Öckerö. Our mechanical production takes place in Hönö, where we carry out, for example, the manufacturing of winches and steel and aluminum constructions.

We are located in a fantastic environment out on Öckerö. If you live out on the islands, you probably know how to get here, but it is also easy to reach us from the city. Ferries depart every ten minutes from Lilla Varholmen, and the journey takes only 12 minutes. Once across, it is only a couple of kilometers to the yard, and there are both bus connections and a nice bike path.
