We want to be the ones who enable the dream of a vibrant and safe environment for homes, families, and businesses.
To succeed fully, we need many and extensive competencies and work together for a common and trusting work culture, built on brave, responsible employees who understand the needs and wishes of the residents. This is what we call One Värmdö, One Administration.
Working in Värmdö municipality means being part of a continuous improvement process where you become an important part of the whole.
You can reach Värmdö in 30 minutes by direct bus from Slussen. In our central location, Gustavsberg, you will find our bright and fresh municipal building. If you choose to drive instead, the same distance takes 20 minutes. Commuting to us is easy!

About the Position
We are now looking for an engaged family therapist for our Family Team. In this role, you will work with children and youth aged 0–18 with problematic behavior and families lacking in care. The task of the family therapist is to work with relational difficulties based on a systemic perspective to free resources and create change for the individual, family, and network. Your Responsibilities
As a family therapist, you will work with psychosocial change processes where the child is always at the center. The aim is to strengthen parenting, improve communication between family members, and enhance relationships within families. The goal of the interventions is for families to develop their own strategies to handle the difficulties they face.
You are expected to be proactive and flexible in your work and provide qualified support tailored to each family's unique needs. This support is based on both proven experience and evidence-based methods.
Collaboration is a central part of your work. You will work closely with social workers who have assigned the task, as well as cooperate with other municipal operations and external resources.
You will engage in systemic network work together with the families' private and professional networks. The work usually takes place in the family's own home environment but can also occur in the organization's premises.
The organization uses the follow-up tool Fit-Outcomes. Daily work includes follow-up through documentation and clear goals from the implementation plan.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree in social work or another equivalent higher education. Further training equivalent to step 1 in psychotherapy or systemic theoretical education. Experience in family therapy with many years of practical experience.
Meritorious:
- Experience in interaction therapy/attachment-based treatment. Competence in areas such as children, trauma, and violence. Training in one or more of the following methods: Circle of Security (COS), Tryggare Barn (TB), Marte Meo, Trappan, or Project Support (PS).
Personal Qualities
We place great importance on your social skills and personal suitability. You are positive, attentive, and have a strong drive. You are solution-focused, quick to learn new things, and take initiative. You are secure, structured, and have the ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with colleagues and external actors. We value your ability to contribute to the development of the organization and to maintain a high quality of work.
