About Vallaskolan

Vallaskolan is centrally located in the Sollefteå urban area. The school has approximately 560 students divided into two principal areas; grades 4-9 and adapted primary school (special needs education). In primary school, there will be 21 classes for the next school year. The school management consists of one principal and two vice principals, who also teach in their roles. There are approximately 37 teaching positions, including special teachers and teachers in a special education group (Studio) and the preparatory program for newly arrived students (Language Studio). Additionally, there are some student hosts and resource persons. Within administration, student health, library, IT, and maintenance, several other people are active. Three of the teachers are lead teachers. The lead teachers have an overarching assignment at the municipal level. Additionally, at the request of the principal, they also lead the development work at the school. The competence of the staff is highly valued by the school management, and there are good opportunities for development within the organization.

Operations

The operations are organized into grade working teams. Close collaboration within the teaching teams and towards students facilitates the promoting and preventive student health work, co-assessment, interdisciplinary work, and other schedule-breaking activities. As a teacher, you will also be part of a subject group with several teachers teaching the same subject. In the subject group, students' work is co-assessed, joint planning is created, and student results and evaluations are analyzed together. The school also has a program for newly arrived students integrated with a special teaching environment.

Digitalization

Sollefteå Municipality has come a long way in terms of digitalization. All students have access to a Chromebook, and we extensively use Google's educational services in teaching. We also have access to digital teaching materials in most subjects, all classrooms are equipped with projectors, and all teachers have their own Chromebook. Using technology as a tool to promote learning and goal fulfillment is a given for the school.

Student Health

The unit has a well-developed student health service with special teachers, teachers from the Studio and Language Studio, two counselors, two school nurses, a study and career counselor, and access to a school psychologist on a consultative basis. The school has well-developed strategies in the promoting and preventive student health work, in which student health is included in the working teams' EHM (Student Health Meetings). The structure of the combined competence contributes to strengthening students in their development both academically and socially. There is always an IT technician on site, and the school library is well-equipped with staffing every day of the week.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Teaching chemistry, biology, physics, technology, and mathematics in the later years of primary school. Some positions may be refined to math, science, and technology roles. Mentorship for a group of students.

You will be part of a working team where you together take responsibility for and develop the team's work with the student group. You will also be part of a subject group together with other teachers with competence in Math/Science/Technology with special responsibility for subject didactic and pedagogical development.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified teacher according to the Education Act with authorization to teach the subjects mentioned above.
