The Ambulance Operations Area (VO) is responsible for ambulance services in northwestern and southwestern Skåne with ambulance stations in ten locations. The ambulance care in Region Skåne has developed into a regionally equal operation with cooperation across previous county borders, limitless dispatching, common treatment guidelines, and shared professional development. The operations area comprises approximately 380 employees.

The administration is undergoing change and development in several areas such as competency enhancement, research, education, and quality assurance, which has positive effects for both patients and employees.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We now welcome specialist nurses to join us in Malmö and Trelleborg.

The ambulance is often the first on the scene, and the intervention can be crucial for the patient. As an ambulance nurse, you work with pre-hospital emergency care where you meet patients of all ages who have suffered from acute illness or injury. You assess and treat patients at home, at the scene of the accident, and during transport to a healthcare facility. The work as an ambulance nurse is qualified and independent. The focus is on good care and humanity in the patient encounter. You work in a team and always go together with an ambulance caregiver or another nurse or specialist-trained nurse.

Before employment, there will be a selection process consisting of a suitability test in the form of an interview. If you meet our requirements during the interview, you will be invited to a physical test and a driving test. Upon employment, you will receive an introduction of approximately seven weeks tailored to your previous experience and competencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Primarily, we are looking for you who have specialist training with a focus on ambulance care, but also for you with other relevant specialist training for the area. You have language skills in Swedish that correspond to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale. For the position, a B driver's license and good driving experience are required. A C1 driver's license or a B driver's license obtained before July 1996 is an advantage for the position. Additionally, we see it as desirable that you have work experience from emergency care.

Working in an ambulance requires personal maturity and good judgment. We value that you are confident and well-established in your role as an ambulance nurse. You are engaged in your work, and your willingness to contribute to the development of the operation is of great value. The ambulance care operation places high medical and technical demands but also demands flexibility. There are moments in the work where you are under a lot of pressure, but also moments that allow time for reflection and recovery. You and your colleague play a central role for the patients, and sometimes you will encounter difficult situations.
