The Department of Health and Care Sciences is nationally and internationally leading in person-centered care, which permeates education, research, and innovation. The department is organized into academic environments consisting of interdisciplinary profile areas; in these academic environments, the combined competence is integrated to promote quality in education, research, and collaboration.
The department offers professional training for nurses, radiographers, midwives, and specialist nurses. Additionally, commissioned training and independent courses at an advanced level are offered, allowing students to continue their studies up to a master's degree in one of the department's main areas: nursing, radiography, and health pedagogy. The department also conducts doctoral education in health sciences.
The position is primarily placed within the section for Diagnostics and Care in Acute and Critical Conditions, where the specialist nursing education with focuses on anesthesia care, intensive care, surgical care, and operating room nursing is included. The radiographer program and midwifery program are also part of the section. Teaching primarily occurs within Diagnostics and Care in Acute and Critical Conditions; as needed, current tasks may also occur in collaboration with other sections within the department.

Subject Description
Nursing encompasses knowledge about human development, health, and well-being in connection with birth, illness, suffering, and death. The starting point is to promote a meaningful life despite illness or functional variation, as well as to enable a dignified death. The focus of nursing is to alleviate suffering, promote health, and prevent illness and health issues at the individual, group, and societal levels. Nursing is based on needs and problems related to health and illness and daily life, but also on individuals' resources and ability to manage their life situation.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include planning and teaching, coordinating resources, ensuring continuity in the courses, staying updated on current developments in the subject areas, and being course responsible. The role of the course responsible teacher includes developing and coordinating learning objectives, learning activities, examination forms, and assessment criteria in relation to content, purpose, and current pedagogical research. Furthermore, it includes quality assurance of education with validated evaluation forms. Within the position, you will also supervise and examine theses at the undergraduate level and supervise theses at the advanced level. Administrative tasks related to educational activities are a significant part of the responsibilities. Additionally, it includes actively working for subject development of the main area as well as collaboration with health care regarding practice-based education. Other tasks may also occur, and the content of the position may change over time.
The position also includes actively contributing to achieving the department's goals and operational plan, which involves working to develop the academic environment within the section's Complete Academic Environment (KAM). Moreover, all employees are expected to participate in planned joint meetings and activities organized by the department.
The applicant must teach in both Swedish and English.
Qualifications
Qualifications for employment as a teacher are specified in the University of Gothenburg's employment regulations.
Completed higher education at least at the advanced level, demonstrated pedagogical skills, and a specialist nursing degree with a focus on anesthesia care. Swedish nursing license.
Proficiency in Swedish and English in both spoken and written form.
