About our preschools

In Vilhelmina, there are six municipal preschools, three of which are located in the town center. All preschools are centrally located. At Strandvägen is Regnbågen. Next to Tallåsvägen are the preschools Skogsbacken and Sagobacken. In nearby villages, there are three preschools. In Nästansjö, there is Tranan, in Latikberg, there is Myltan, and in Malgovik, the preschool is called Norrskenet. A common feature of all preschools is that we are close to nature, and outdoor activities are an important part of all preschools. Job responsibilities and areas of responsibility

As a preschool teacher, you have the primary responsibility for ensuring that the assignment is carried out. You will lead and develop the educational work in the department based on the preschool's governing documents. You are responsible for creating a positive and development-promoting environment for each child as well as for the entire group. You will also arrange meetings with parents both individually and in large groups and work with other colleagues to develop our operations.

Working as a preschool teacher offers unique – and significant – opportunities to influence and contribute to children's development. As a preschool teacher, you help create a positive and developing environment, with a good balance of care and learning, for each child and for the entire group of children. Our well-organized daily structure, which is based on children's participation and influence, forms the foundation of our educational work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree as a preschool teacher or teacher for younger ages. You focus on the child and are cheerful, patient, positive, flexible, engaged, and see possibilities. You have knowledge and an idea of how you and your colleagues can realize the goals and values of the curriculum. You also have knowledge of how to make children's learning processes visible and further develop them using pedagogical documentation.

Particularly meritorious is if you have experience with intentional language development approaches. Everyone is welcome to apply, but we are especially looking for someone with a few years of experience in the profession and a conscious approach to working with various adaptations for both groups and individuals.

Conditions

According to the Education Act, an extract from the police criminal record must be presented by the applicant before employment in preschool activities, school, and school-age childcare. This can be ordered on the Police's website.

About Vilhelmina

Vilhelmina can be described as a 5-minute community. It may be a bit far from larger cities, but once you are here, everything is within reach. In five minutes, you can pick up children from preschool, go to work, hit the gym after work, or take your skis/running shoes in the illuminated trails, and eat at one of the town's cafes and restaurants. In the mountains, there are facilities that are open during tourist seasons and year-round, as well as proximity to some of the larger ski slopes in Kittelfjäll and Klimpfjäll.
