Social Worker for Follow-Up Group in Upplands Väsby Municipality

About us

The unit for financial assistance is divided into a reception group and a follow-up group.

The unit employs 17 social workers, an administrator, two assistant unit managers, and a unit manager. The unit is responsible for work with financial assistance and estate management. We are now looking for two dedicated social workers for our follow-up group.

The follow-up group consists of 10 social workers who work with citizens in need of financial support for an extended period.

About the position

We are looking for someone who wants to work with citizens who have a long-term need for financial support. Your tasks will involve working with individuals to find their way to self-sufficiency and processing applications for financial assistance. The job involves a lot of contact with individuals, authorities, and other units within the administration.

The social workers in the group collaborate closely with the municipality's labor market unit to find pathways for individuals to achieve self-sufficiency. You will have case discussions with your colleagues and the assistant unit manager twice a week. You will also have process case discussions together once a month. We have external supervision and the opportunity to work from home 1-2 days a week.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in social work or another higher education that the employer assesses as equivalent
  • Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience in governmental work within financial assistance
  • Experience with the operational system Combine

As a person, you are structured, organizing your work well and ensuring that tasks are completed within set deadlines. Furthermore, we see that you are confident and collaborative with good communication skills. For us, this means that you work with the individual in focus and find it easy to collaborate both internally and externally. You are also flexible and not afraid to make decisions.
