Your tasks

We are now looking for you who are ready for your next challenge, to work with young dementia. Welcome to us at Trollflöjten!

Here at Trollflöjten, people under 65 years old with dementia live, which makes you and your colleagues an important piece in creating a meaningful everyday life. The work as a nursing assistant with us means meeting the individual’s needs. Being affected by young dementia is transformative, both for the affected individual and for relatives. Behavior changes and the person may, for example, start to act aggressively or have hallucinations. In your work, you will meet their worries. Threats and violent situations may occur.

As a nursing assistant, you will therefore work to create opportunities for social interaction and participate in various activities. The position as a nursing assistant also includes care tasks, which involve, for example, assistance with transfers, personal hygiene, household chores, and medical interventions. At Trollflöjten, we work based on IBIC (individual needs in focus) and with the individual's best interests in mind. Walks and other health-promoting measures are an important part of our working method. Our work is also characterized by a salutogenic approach, which means focusing on the healthy and drawing out the person's own abilities.

In the position, you will also have the opportunity for development in your role, as you will be assigned a contact responsibility for a number of individuals. This means that you participate in welcome conversations where you, together with the individual, plan support measures. You are responsible for the implementation plan and document in the Treserva system.

Your workplace

Trollflöjten is a nursing home aimed at individuals under 65 years with dementia. The residence is centrally located near the city library, Kungsträdgården, and the Concert and Congress center. The building consists of a total of three floors, of which Trollflöjten's apartments are located on the first and second floors. Each floor has nine apartments with shared spaces such as kitchens and living rooms.

The staff at Trollflöjten work to find solutions for each individual and their life situation. The work group currently consists of 26 employees with different professions such as nursing assistants, specialist nursing assistants, and Silvia nurses. We care for each other and want everyone to thrive with us. It is natural for us to be welcoming, helpful, flexible, and collaborate with each other; we want a pleasant climate. Activities with our elderly residents are an important part of everyday life, and our central location often contributes to cultural elements in the activities. We organize excursions, museum visits, parties with dancing and good food, as well as group gymnastics. In addition, we work with Senior alert and the BPSD quality register.

With us, working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. We are currently participating in a scheduling pilot that runs until the end of the year, where we can influence/how working hours should be scheduled.

You who are applying

We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant with a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare. You should have experience working in care and support and have previously worked with dementia. Experience in psychiatry is an advantage.

If you are familiar with low-arousal approaches, we see this as an advantage since there may be outwardly aggressive behavior. It is also advantageous if you have experience with the IBIC working method and a salutogenic approach. Since we may use a minibus in our work, it is also advantageous if you have a B driver's license for a manual transmission.

Work in elderly care involves a lot of customer contacts and documentation, which means we require you to communicate orally and in writing in Swedish. You have the ability to use digital tools, and it is required to have previous experience documenting in journal systems.

As a person, you are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks and drive your work forward. You also work well with others and listen and communicate clearly. It is also important that you have an empathetic ability that allows you to understand others' perspectives and situations. You also have the ability to take initiative and start activities.
