About the Company:

The Social and Environmental Department's area of operation focuses on the well-being of people, animals, and the environment. The department is responsible for developing legislation, planning, coordinating, monitoring developments within the area of operation, and exercising certain supervision over social, health, and medical care as well as environmental health care and environmental protection, ensuring that it is qualitatively and quantitatively appropriate, taking into account current conditions and applicable regulations. The environmental agency handles matters related to environmental awareness, environmental protection, biodiversity, minimized climate impact, waste, healthy living environments for humans, animal health, animal welfare, and food safety, as well as matters related to water management. In addition to the agency head, 12 officials serve at the agency.

Job Responsibilities:

The veterinarian's duties include collaborating with other staff at the environmental agency to develop administration, legislation, and preparedness regarding infection control, health protection, food safety, animal diseases, and animal welfare in the region. Additionally, the veterinarian will handle cases and manage reporting, as well as manage EU matters within the area of operation and oversee veterinary care in the region and other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

The eligibility requirement is a licensed veterinarian in Finland. Familiarity with administrative tasks and experience in the aforementioned areas of responsibility is advantageous.
