About the position

As a trainee, you will receive internal introductory training with theory and practice for approximately 1 year. The training is mainly conducted at our headquarters in Sundbyberg and partly at our facilities, in collaboration with one of our sister units. During the trainee program, study trips and some training will take place at other locations. You will gain a broad understanding of how the operation of Sweden's transmission network is managed through exchanges and practical experience both internally and with other external actors. You will also have the chance to build a large network and develop together with other trainees at Svenska kraftnät.

The work in the control room is a central part of the Swedish and Nordic electricity supply and means that you will have a wide network at both national and Nordic levels. Here you will be involved in realizing the energy transition and be part of a team responsible for the operation of the Swedish transmission network.

After completing the training and obtaining certification, you will work as an electricity operations manager and belong to the Network Operations South unit, which staffs Svenska kraftnät's control room in Sundbyberg, responsible for connections, voltage regulation, and alarm management within the Swedish transmission network. We do this around the clock, all year round!

About you

Requirements:

Since the role involves contact points both internally and externally, we are looking for someone who works well with others. You adapt and find solutions through a selfless focus on the common goal. As a person, you can handle stress constructively and have the ability to remain calm in sometimes stressful situations. In the control room, it is required that you are structured and can organize and prioritize work effectively, as well as quickly find solutions to emerging challenges. We place great importance on your personal qualities.

When the program starts, you should have one of the following degrees:

completed upper secondary education with a focus on electrical power or electrical engineering, alternatively the electrical and energy program with a focus on electrical engineering
degree in electrical engineering from a vocational college
or education that Svenska kraftnät assesses as relevant for the position.

The trainee program is aimed at those who are newly graduated with a maximum of two years of continuous work experience or those who are retrained with a maximum of two years of relevant work experience for the position. Furthermore, you have:

very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing and good knowledge of English in speech and writing
a B driver's license.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

completed military service
experience of shift work.

After certification, the work will involve a variation between office hours, shift work at irregular times in the form of 3-shift and on-call duty. During on-call duty, you need to be on-site within 1 hour. Compensation for inconvenient working hours and on-call duty is provided
Work during office days allows for remote work up to 50% #LI-hybrid
Travel may occur in the position
The employment begins with a 12-month fixed-term trainee position. The employment will transition to a permanent position upon successful certification and provided that the qualification requirements are otherwise met upon completion of training
