Do you want to help me live a normal life? I am a 34-year-old woman with significant muscle weakness and joint stiffness, which means I need assistance with most practical aspects of life. Therefore, I have personal assistance, and thanks to that, I can work, take care of my child, and do everything that everyday life entails, while my husband can just be my husband. As my assistant, you will accompany me everywhere I go and be my muscles when I can't manage on my own.

About you as a candidate:

Due to the nature of the job, I am looking for someone who identifies as a woman and is a non-smoker.

Since my parents have a dog, you may occasionally meet them, so it’s good if you are not allergic to dogs or afraid of them.

The job involves manual transfers, including helping me to stand up and sit down, which means it is important that you have good physical fitness and strength.

I have a driver's license and my own car, which I drive myself, but it’s a plus if you also have a driver's license.

You need to be able to speak and understand Swedish or English.

You should preferably have received three doses of the coronavirus vaccine.

In addition to the above, it is important that you understand my need for privacy and my right to make decisions about my own life.

You do not need any formal education or previous experience in care work to work with me, but you do need a willingness to learn. You will receive training and instructions from me along with a regular assistant. If you see the job as a personal assistant as a caregiving role, you are not the right person for this job. I am not a patient in need of your care, but an adult woman and parent who needs your physical support to live a normal life.

Significant importance will be placed on your personal qualities.

As an assistant, you will be part of a team consisting of five assistants. However, during working hours, you will work alone with me.

The position is a temporary replacement for regular assistants during their vacations from June 2025 to August 2025. The scope is between a little over half-time and full-time. The work is scheduled with various shifts, including waiting time with overnight stays in your own room in my apartment.

The work may potentially begin in May with training and substitute shifts during regular assistants' temporary absences before the vacation period.

Thereafter, there is a chance for extension during the regular assistant's absence, with a scope of about 80 percent.

The role of a personal assistant

As a personal assistant, you represent Hela Sveriges Assistans.

In the role of a personal assistant, you will complete an online training about what it is like to work as a personal assistant.

You will work together with the client and your colleagues to ensure good quality and follow the company's values and policies.

As a personal assistant, you are responsible for accessing information sent out by the head office, and if necessary, seeking information available on the website. For other questions, you turn to your supervisor or the head office.

In your role as a personal assistant, you are expected to:

• always keep the client in focus.
• be updated on the implementation plan, which can be provided orally by the client, or be written down on-site or in HSA time.
• review the job descriptions and routines available on-site and follow them.
• document and read documentation according to the routine in the assignment.

We train our employees to ensure the quality of personal assistance. All our new employees complete an online introductory training for personal assistants before their first working day, or at the latest within a month after starting employment.
