Foster Care Secretary for the Emergency Group at the Social Administration Hisingen

The Social Administration Hisingen is part of the social services in Gothenburg City. We are one of four social administrations. We work purposefully to create a better everyday life for the residents of Hisingen.

We offer support in individual and family care, social emergency services, assistance with addiction, and integration issues. We also work with recreational activities and preventive work around public health, community planning, local safety work, and integration issues.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Foster Care Unit Hisingen is looking for a Foster Care Secretary for the emergency group! The unit consists of two teams, where the emergency group, consisting of six foster care secretaries, belongs to one of the teams. In the role of foster care secretary in the emergency group, you will take turns with your colleagues handling urgent requests for emergency placements. The group works according to a rolling schedule with weekly 1st on-call and 2nd on-call, which means that during these weeks you have an increased readiness to receive emergency requests and to accompany emergency placements. The remaining weeks are more flexible, where you have the opportunity to schedule home visits, follow-up meetings, etc.

A particularly important responsibility for the emergency group is to ensure that our emergency homes receive the support and guidance they need to carry out their tasks in the best possible way. It is therefore important that you, as an applicant, are good at creating and maintaining trusting relationships and that you see yourself as an important part of the work that the emergency homes perform.

The work also involves investigating new emergency homes together with a colleague. The investigations of emergency homes require a good ability to analyze strengths and challenges in the individuals we investigate and to continuously be able to assess the information you receive.

Working in the emergency group is a fun and varied job that offers good opportunities for development and participation. We often bounce ideas off each other and strive to be a strong team. For us, it is important to help each other and to solve things together with each other and our management. We have close access to both the unit manager and the 1st social secretary, who have extensive knowledge and experience in foster care. We value having a pleasant working environment and share many laughs in our daily work while being there for each other in the challenges that the job entails. We are proud of our work and our dedicated emergency homes. The most important thing for us is that the children we are here for are doing well!

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience in foster care. Experience working with children and youth is an advantage, as well as familiarity with investigative work.

You will encounter people in many different contexts and therefore must have a professional, respectful approach and demeanor. Since we work with the supervision of paid contractors, you need to be good at creating trusting relationships and reflecting together with contractors, colleagues, and management on the challenges that arise.

We want you to be comfortable working both independently and with others. You also need to be flexible and able to adapt when the situation requires. Furthermore, we want you to have a good ability to express yourself in both speech and writing and to be accustomed to documentation.

To thrive in the unit, you need to have good collaboration skills, be unpretentious, and enjoy helping each other and working together both internally and externally. The work is primarily conducted during the day, but evening work may occur. Since we drive a lot in the service, a B driver's license is required.
