Environmental Permit Manager

Do you want to play a key role in Wibax's continued success journey and be part of a culture characterized by a family-oriented and entrepreneurial spirit with a strong focus on collaboration and quality, where we work together towards ambitious environmental goals?

Wibax, named one of Sweden’s Best Managed Companies, is now looking for a new colleague for the position of Environmental Permit Manager.

About the Role

As the Environmental Permit Manager with us, you will play a key role in driving and coordinating the permitting processes for environmentally hazardous activities, Seveso, and flammable goods for the Swedish operations. You will lead and coordinate ongoing permit matters and actively participate in both drafting and reviewing relevant documents. Furthermore, you will also provide support during assessments in the Finnish operations.

In addition to the operational work, you will act as a strategic support to managers in discussions about future storage and production, especially when it involves reassessment or changes to permits. For larger assessments, you will also be responsible for mapping the need for external expertise, procuring consultants, and ensuring that all parts are handled efficiently.

You will be part of the QSE (Quality, Health & Safety, Environment) staff function within Wibax Group, where you will work alongside competent colleagues. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues in the subsidiaries' organizations in Sweden and Finland, whose main task is to ensure compliance with existing permits and conditions. An important part of your mission is to identify areas for improvement, coordinate processes, and contribute to ensuring that our permit matters are handled as efficiently as possible.

The QSE team has overall responsibility for supporting, developing, and monitoring the Group's operations in quality, health & safety, environment, and sustainability. In your role, you will report to Chief QSE Officer Anna Bergvall.

About You

To thrive and succeed in the role of Environmental Permit Manager, you need to be proactive and have the ability to keep multiple processes running simultaneously. We continuously work with new assessments, which requires you to be flexible and quickly switch between different areas of expertise such as environment, Seveso, and flammable goods.

As a person, you are structured, results-oriented, and solve challenges without losing sight of long-term strategies. Your working style is characterized by good communication, ensuring that messages are conveyed and expectations are clear for all parties involved. You also have an easy time gathering, processing, and transforming information into clear decision-making materials.

You have experience working with permitting processes and/or permit applications, preferably within the environmental field, for example as a consultant or case officer. You have a good understanding of environmental legislation and its application, as well as an academic degree.

Your skills in MS Office are good, and you can express yourself very well in both spoken and written Swedish and English. Knowledge of Finnish is an advantage.

If you thrive in an environment where you have the opportunity to develop and your curiosity helps you stay updated in your area of expertise, Wibax and this role are for you.
