School Librarian for Sollefteå Municipality

We are looking for someone who wants to work to ensure that the school library is a pedagogical resource that supports students in reaching their goals and who, together with teachers and the principal, plans a school library operation based on governing documents; the Education Act, curriculum, our School Library Plan, and the needs present in the school!

We create a school library accessible to all, which strengthens students' language and knowledge development and their digital competence!

You will be one of our school librarians making a difference for students in Sollefteå Municipality's primary schools - welcome to us!

RESPONSIBILITIES

The schools in Sollefteå have a clear document for the development of school library operations in the School Library Plan and its Knowledge Ladder.

As a School Librarian, you will:

• In collaboration with the principal and educational staff, contribute to providing students with good conditions for their language and knowledge development and inspire reading. Since 2020, Sollefteå Municipality has been part of a collaboration project with the Swedish National Agency for Education regarding targeted efforts for newly arrived learners, where SKUA (language and knowledge-developing work) is part of the project. In this initiative, the school librarian plays an important role.
• In close cooperation with the school management, continue the development of the local school libraries.
• Ensure the quality of the Knowledge Ladders, part of Sollefteå Municipality's school library plan.
• Participate in the school library network for increased equity in the municipality's school libraries.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree; a degree in library and information science.
• Experience in school library work/public library operations.
• Good planning and collaboration skills.
• Good IT skills.

Good knowledge of children's literature and pedagogical experience in literature is an advantage. A driver's license for a manual car is required.

OTHER
