Department Manager for the Café
Biltema offers a wide range of products for the whole family in the areas of Car/Motorcycle, Boat, Leisure, Home, Office/Technology, Construction, Car Care, and Tools. Biltema markets more than 19,000 items. Our vision is to make it easier for people to afford a car, boat, home, tools, and high-quality leisure products, thereby creating a richer leisure time for everyone. Biltema currently has a total of 161 stores in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland, of which 60 stores are located in Sweden. Biltema is a strong brand in an exciting expansion, planning to open around 50 new stores in the Nordic region in the coming years.
About the Position
As the Department Manager for the café, you will be responsible for daily operations, coordinating café activities, and ensuring that the business continuously develops and improves. You will manage weekly and daily planning for the café based on preparation, orders, and customer flow, and actively work on optimized store inventory and upselling. The role includes ensuring that the department adheres to order and cleanliness, that the product range follows Biltema's guidelines and goals, and that the café is an inviting environment for our customers.
You will coach your colleagues in optimal customer service and ensure, with the help of training, guidance, instructions, and follow-up work, that the employees within the department possess the right skills. As the Department Manager, you will also handle the café's inventory, ensure that food safety procedures are followed, and be responsible for ensuring that the work environment in the café complies with applicable laws, agreements, and procedures.
About You
To thrive in this role, you likely have several years of experience in retail or the restaurant industry, have a genuine interest in the café, and feel ready for a new challenge.
As a person, you enjoy taking initiative, have a knack for sales and providing service – it is second nature for you to go the extra mile to create results. You also have an eye for creating appealing and inviting environments and find challenges, such as new or temporary tasks, enjoyable.
It is important that you have an interest in the café operations you will be responsible for, as this is a prerequisite for succeeding in your role. As the Department Manager, you will have several employees to assist you, so it is important that you can communicate the goals and the path to achieve them. Personal suitability will be given great importance.
