Ambulance Caregiver Wanted

We are looking for someone who wants to work in a varied environment with us in ambulance care.

In the role of ambulance caregiver, you primarily work with individual-based care and emergency interventions at home. In ambulance care, the patient is assessed, examined, and directed to the appropriate level of care. When working at an accident scene with other actors, the ambulance caregiver functions as the prehospital medical leader. The ambulance service also includes transferring patients between healthcare facilities locally, regionally, and nationally. Ambulance caregivers and ambulance nurses work together in various interprofessional teams with doctors and other essential community actors, such as RAPS blue actors and staff in emergency departments.

The position requires you to work day/evening/night/weekend. There is a need in various areas of Kalmar County, and the workplace will be agreed upon. If necessary, work across station borders may also occur.

About You

You are a nursing assistant and have training as an ambulance caregiver.

You are an experienced driver and have a B driver's license. C/C1 licenses are advantageous. The profession also requires that you have training in emergency driving. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and ability to collaborate. The profession requires good physical fitness, and after passing physical tests, an introductory training will be conducted. We work with the following educational concepts: SAT, D-HLR, AHLR, B-HLR, prehospital medical leadership, ambulance technology, AMLS, PHTLS, advisory support Web, and RETTS, so competence in these areas is advantageous.

Within ambulance care, there are resources such as emergency ambulances, transport ambulances, first response functions, light care ambulances, internal command, and a medical service bus that transports patients between the county's hospitals and the Regional Hospital in Linköping. The ambulance service in Region Kalmar County has about 220 employees. During the summer months, the number of inhabitants increases due to tourists and events in the county.

The County Hospital in Kalmar is one of three hospitals in Kalmar County. The hospital is an emergency hospital with specialist care, maternity care, and postnatal care.
