Alsters Herrgård - Gustaf Fröding's Memorial Estate consists of several buildings with an accompanying manor park and close proximity to hiking trails, beach baths, and bird towers.

There is a manor café that serves lunch and homemade pastries every day during the high season, along with several other activities such as an art gallery, manor shop, handicraft shop, and the Värmland County Handicraft Association's exhibition facilities. Daily tours are typically offered in the Fröding Floor during the high season.

We are looking for individuals with a big heart and commitment to culture, literature, and tourism.

For the summer of 2025, we are looking for several guides for Alsters Herrgård - Gustaf Fröding's Memorial Estate. We are seeking 2 guides for seasonal employment at approximately 25% during May-September, with varying hours during the relevant months but averaging about 25% per month over the period. We are also looking for 2 guides who want to work as needed during parts of the season. Introduction and training will be held for a few hours in April.

Job Responsibilities

The job responsibilities include guiding about Gustaf Fröding and/or in the manor park, as well as managing the shop/information. This includes hospitality, receiving bookings, and shop sales. A significant part of the work involves administration, as the guides are involved in bookings and incoming inquiries to Alsters Herrgård.

Qualifications

To thrive in this job, we believe you are:

• cheerful and service-oriented, preferably with experience in service professions, as the work involves a lot of customer contact and we want all our visitors to feel welcome and well taken care of. Hospitality is of utmost importance.
• interested in literature or similar fields within culture and have studied at the university level or equivalent.
• a good storyteller who enjoys speaking in front of groups, as the tours are a large and important part of the operation.
• structured, solution-focused, and flexible, as the administrative work involves keeping track of many things simultaneously with multiple incoming channels and several participating actors.
• interested in culture in Värmland and tourism, as the shop serves as tourist information.
