We are all different. We are also all alike and have the same right to a safe home, meaningful employment, and to feel valuable. With the right conditions, we can grow, develop, and participate in society on our own terms.
Within the administration for support to people with disabilities, we provide support, service, and care to children and adults with disabilities and create opportunities for them to live a good and independent life, just like everyone else. By spreading knowledge and collaborating within the City of Gothenburg and with other actors, we increase understanding of individual needs and design interventions that make a real difference.
With 6,200 dedicated employees, we are Sweden's largest support administration for people with disabilities. We work within housing with special services, daily activities, employment, housing support, personal assistance, child and short-term housing, respite care, as well as support and guidance.
Do you want to help contribute to a more inclusive society? Welcome to us!
You are Gothenburg.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for summer and hourly substitutes for daily activities and housing support within the Administration for Support to People with Disabilities in the Hisingen and Centrum districts.
You will be matched to either daily activities or housing support, based on both your preferences and the needs of the services. You will have the opportunity in your application to rank which option you are most interested in.
Daily Activities:
Daily activities offer employment for individuals with various types of physical and/or intellectual disabilities. Your tasks will vary depending on the service you work in, but fundamentally, the work consists of tasks such as pedagogical support and assisting and guiding participants according to individual needs. Activities in daily activities may include crafts and manufacturing, music and theater, baking, sensory stimulation, or movement joy. The tasks also include support with personal care and toilet visits. Working hours in daily activities are daytime Monday to Friday.
Housing Support:
Your tasks are performed in the individual's home. The target group includes neuropsychiatric conditions, intellectual disabilities, and other mental variations. Substance abuse issues may also occur. Interventions may include support for social or physical activities, support with structure in daily life, assistance in contact with authorities, and support with daily chores such as shopping and cleaning. There may also be activities outside the home to break isolation or support in finding meaningful employment. The work involves working alone, which places high demands on the ability to work independently. Working hours are primarily daytime Monday to Friday, but occasional evenings and weekends may occur.
We are looking for:
- Summer substitutes who want to work full-time on a schedule during the summer period. To be considered for summer substitutes, you should preferably be available for the entire period from week 25 to 33.
- Hourly substitutes who work as needed in the services. As an hourly substitute, you can control your working hours by entering your availability and receiving requests for work accordingly. You can combine the work with studies, other activities, or retirement. There are good opportunities for a future within the city.
QUALIFICATIONS
To apply for a position with us, you must be at least 18 years old, in accordance with the regulations regarding the working environment of minors (AFS 2023:2). To be able to document, you need to master the Swedish language in both speech and writing, which means a requirement for passing grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a second language 1, or equivalent. It is a requirement that you have completed or are currently enrolled in education in healthcare and social services or within social or pedagogical work, or if you have work experience in the field of disabilities, healthcare, or equivalent work. It is an advantage if you have previously worked with challenging behavior and LAB (Low Arousal Approach).
You take responsibility for your tasks and the group's tasks. You think of those we are here for and their best interests. You are friendly and helpful to others even in stressful situations. You show respect for everyone you meet at work. You are inviting and positive. You work to ensure that the student/client/user gets what they need.
