Do you want to help develop the future of Borås as a cultural city? Borås is a cultural city in constant development. The Cultural Administration works with and is responsible for a large part of the cultural offerings. We are responsible for the libraries in Borås, Borås Art Museum, the Culture School, the Textile Museum, Borås Museum, Borås City Theatre, and Public Meetings with Bio Röda Kvarn. Here, over 220 people work to enrich the lives of Borås residents.

We want more people to experience art, film, theater, and music! As a communicator at Public Meetings, you will work closely with visitors and cultural practitioners towards our common goal. Public Meetings works with various cultural projects and events for children, youth, and adults. Audience development and participation are important working methods. The operations include producing and coordinating functions, handling cultural grants, the cinema Röda Kvarn, and a communicator position. As a communicator, you will work with operational tasks to build relationships with old and new target groups to promote Public Meetings' events, but you will also be part of the cross-departmental network for marketers with collaborations and knowledge transfer, as well as being in close contact with the management.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for you, a creative and driven marketer who will work with audience development and promote the events of Public Meetings, as well as work with the cross-departmental communication efforts.

Responsibilities included in the position are:

• Operational marketing work such as producing printed materials, web, ad creation, digital marketing
• Audience development work such as audience surveys, outreach target group work, conducting events with a visitor focus
• Press contacts, press releases, internal communication support
• Cross-departmental communication work such as producing newsletters, being a departmental representative in various networks, both internally and externally, following up on the department's communication plan, crisis communication, etc.

Working hours are daytime Monday - Friday. Evening and weekend work may occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an education in communication and at least one year of work experience in communication/marketing, preferably within the cultural sector.

You have knowledge in graphic design (InDesign), image/moving image, handling social media, web (Borås City uses SiteVision), and other digital media. You are also a skilled writer with the ability to structure and formulate easily understandable messages for various communication channels and contexts, always with the target audience in focus.

It is an advantage if you have worked in a politically governed organization and have experience in audience development.

To succeed in this role, we believe you are attentive and flexible. Since the work involves contacts both internally and externally, it is also important that you have good collaboration skills, are communicative, and always strive to create the best possible meeting with those you encounter in your work.
