About us
The psychosis department at Skaraborg Hospital is an acute care unit with 16 beds. We offer both voluntary care and care according to LPT (the Act on Compulsory Psychiatric Care). Here, a close-knit team consisting of doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and a NIP team (Newly Diagnosed with Psychotic Disorders) works together. We specialize in the assessment and treatment of patients with psychosis diagnoses and work collaboratively to provide high-quality, individualized care.
Your workplace
Our facility is located in Skövde in newly built and specially adapted premises that opened in the spring of 2022. The premises are designed to create a safe and pleasant environment for both patients and staff. Here, you will have the opportunity to work in a health-promoting work environment where we together create effective and modern psychiatric care.

Job Responsibilities
In your role as a nurse, you will be responsible for medication management, assessment, planning, and care for each individual patient, in close collaboration with the team. We work transprofessionally, where each professional group contributes its expertise to create the best possible care for the patient.
To help you get started in the best way, we offer a comprehensive introduction and guidance from experienced and competent colleagues. The clinic also offers regular training opportunities to continuously deepen your competence in psychiatry.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. Experience in psychiatric care and a specialist education in psychiatry is advantageous but not a requirement. The most important thing is that you have a genuine interest in psychiatry and a commitment to making a difference for our patients.
To thrive in the role, we believe you are an engaged and structured person who works solution-focused and has a good ability to see the whole picture. You also have good communication skills and a willingness to collaborate and develop. Your focus is always on the patient's needs and well-being.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes introduction days, guidance and training days, and observation days. The purpose of the Clinical Foundation Year is to create good conditions for newly graduated nurses to strengthen their theoretical knowledge and practice skills and grow into their new profession.
In the event of recruitment of nurses with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.
