Property Manager Wanted at SHIS Bostäder

SHIS Bostäder is Stockholm City’s housing social resource.

Our mission is to provide safe transitional housing for established and newly arrived Stockholmers who, for social or economic reasons, find themselves outside the regular housing market. At SHIS, tenants live for a limited time, and our mission is to educate and guide tenants towards securing their own rental contracts. SHIS has about 220 dedicated employees, and together we manage around 40 properties with approximately 3700 apartments, supporting a large number of tenants each year.

We are now looking for a service-oriented and meticulous property manager to join SHIS Bostäder. You will become part of a dedicated and professional team consisting of other property managers, housing support staff, cleaners, and housing guides. Together, we will fulfill our common mission to enable our tenants to get the key to their own door.

You will report to the section manager.

Job Description

With the tenant in focus, you will be responsible for checks of the systematic fire protection work (SBA), coordinate and organize the inspection of apartments together with the inspection manager, conduct annual inspections and maintenance needs. Furthermore, you will handle common facility-related issues and fault reports, as well as simpler renovations (excluding electrical and plumbing work). As a property manager, you are responsible for the outdoor environment and courtyards of the facility and, if necessary, inform and show our tenants how to care for their homes. The job also includes some administration and documentation in our operational system Pythagoras SSO.

Qualifications

As a property manager, you need to be service-oriented, comfortable in social situations, and self-sufficient. It is important that you are solution-focused, structured, and good at planning your time. We work as a team, so it is essential that you want to participate in developing the work together. We are looking for someone who has:

• completed secondary education, preferably with a practical focus or other craft-related education
• experience in basic maintenance work of properties and homes such as assembly work, plastering, repair painting, cleaning of water traps/drainage, changing lock cylinders, and handling keys
• experience working with administrative systems and documentation in operational systems
• good computer skills and the ability to work with basic functions in the Office suite.

It is an advantage if you have:

• post-secondary education in property management or the construction industry, for example from a vocational school or equivalent with a focus on property maintenance
• worked in a craft profession, such as a painter or carpenter, or have other experience in the property sector through inspections
• worked with people in vulnerable situations/ill health with different backgrounds and conditions
• experience in safety and/or security-enhancing work
• knowledge of rental legislation and previous experience working and documenting in operational systems.
