MSB is now looking for a project manager for the Shelter Unit.

The unit's task is to meet the population's need for protection during war through access to shelters.

In Sweden, there are over 64,000 shelters with approximately seven million places. These shelters are spread throughout the regular buildings and are used in peacetime by the respective property owners as ordinary premises. About 80 of these shelters consist of so-called special shelters that can accommodate thousands of people seeking protection. The special shelters are established in rock caverns or concrete facilities and have extensive technical installations.

Your responsibilities and tasks
You will be part of a working group that deals with issues related to shelters. As a project manager, you will be responsible for MSB's assignment regarding the modernization of special shelters. The role involves driving and supporting several concurrently ongoing projects and coordinating consulting support for the projects. The position has a clear outward-facing and driving focus. Outreach activities, collaboration, and relationship building are central.

You will provide advice and support on issues related to the management of existing shelters and renovation projects. The role also includes handling and investigating other shelter-related matters that arise in the organization.

Your knowledge and competencies
We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in building technology or other experience that the employer deems equivalent.
• Several years of project management experience in construction production.
• Good knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the construction industry and community building.
• A valid driver's license (B).

It is advantageous if you have:

• Ordering competence towards external suppliers in construction production.
• Experience and knowledge of fortified protected facilities.
• Certified shelter expert by MSB.

About the employment
We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a six-month probationary period.

Your place of employment will be Karlstad or Stockholm, and travel is included in the employment.

Swedish citizenship is a requirement for employment at MSB as it involves placement in a security class. For employment, a satisfactory result in the security screening with background check is required, conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act. Most employees at MSB are assigned to military service.
