We are looking for a Construction Manager for road maintenance for the Swedish Transport Administration, stationed in Karlstad.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

The assignment concerns construction management regarding road maintenance in Värmland County. Värmland consists of five BAS contracts (Northern Värmland, Western Värmland, Eastern Värmland, Southern Värmland, and South-Eastern Värmland). The construction manager will either work in all contracts or in certain designated BAS contracts from the project manager. Road maintenance is a total contract where part is performed based on function and part is called off. The construction manager is responsible for assisting/driving the project towards its goals regarding scope, time, costs, and quality. This includes ensuring the project's progress and deliveries while considering the needs and priorities of the recipient and other important project stakeholders. The construction manager, under the direction of the client's project manager, will be responsible for coordinating the assigned tasks. The construction manager will assist the client's project team where needed to ensure that the contract is planned, quality assured, and executed in accordance with the contract and established plans, as well as within the frameworks of budget, regulatory decisions, agreements, permits, and arrangements. Follow-up of the contract according to the agreed control program and compile follow-up and forecasts, as well as maintain and deliver reporting documents for the assigned area, contract, and/or technology and is the client's representative on the construction site. The construction manager contributes expertise and technical competence within their area and acts as support for the Swedish Transport Administration's project team in leading and following up contracted construction work regarding economy, time, quality, and environment. The construction manager works together with the Swedish Transport Administration's project team to follow up and develop contracts and processes. Some work may occur outside regular working hours, this happens a few times a year and is ordered separately by the project manager. The Swedish Transport Administration's governing regulations and standards must be applied. Supporting documents such as manuals should be used as guidance for the various project phases. Examples of Tasks • Ensure that the assigned contract is executed in accordance with the contract, drawings, and other documents • Follow up on work for parts performed based on function by ensuring that the contractor's self-control regarding quality, environment, safety, and working environment is carried out according to agreed plans • Ensure that authorities' and the client's requirements are met • Follow-up regarding technology, economy, time, quality, environment, working environment, and safety, as well as reporting • Conduct ongoing supervision of construction work • Assist, prepare, and manage contacts at the project manager's request with a particular focus on contacts related to the implementation phase such as utility owners, environmental management, County Administrative Board, municipalities, residents, etc. • Manage deviations • Follow up and document changes and additional work as well as quantity deviations, according to the project's applicable routines • Participate in construction and production meetings as well as other meetings with the contractor • Contribute to creating good relationships with landowners/property owners • Maintain contact with the base contractor and external parties affected by the project • Coordinate with other technical branches and adjacent contracts • Monitor that necessary permits from authorities are in place • Participate and/or conduct and be responsible for necessary inspections and protocols • Assist in compiling the final documentation of the project • Check and follow up that set requirements have been met • Conduct ongoing supervision of the construction work
