Vallberg School

Vallberg School is a K-6 school with approximately 160 students. The school is complemented by an after-school program that offers various activities. The school is located in the village and has a large playground with access to the Nature Trail developed together with teachers and students in collaboration with the local community. Vallberg School is also a training school, which means we have a close collaboration with Halmstad University and the privilege of regularly hosting students.

About the Position

You will teach crafts in our newly renovated classrooms, where you plan, implement, and evaluate the educational work based on the school's governing documents and the needs and interests of the students, both individually and together with the work team.

If you have a teaching license in additional subjects, further teaching may be added, as well as teaching in the after-school program or as a resource in classes. Depending on the applicant's qualifications, the percentage is between 60%-100%.

Are You the One We Are Looking For?

You should have a teaching degree with qualifications to teach crafts for grades 3-6. You should have a license for both wood and textile crafts. Any additional qualifications are meritorious.

You are familiar with the school's governing documents and have a good ability to meet the students' needs and interests to create a desire for learning. As a teacher, the work is about relationships, which makes approach, attitude, and collaboration skills important aspects. You are a clear leader and have high expectations of yourself, your students, and your colleagues. You have a professional approach that permeates your work. Personal suitability will be highly valued.

You should have an interest in being involved in developing the school in collaboration with other staff. An example could be initiating interdisciplinary work that includes crafts. You possess qualities that include relationship-building, clarity, structure, and creativity to promote students' motivation, participation, and learning.
