About the workplace

Svea Court of Appeal is the largest court of appeal in the country with approximately 430 employees. The main task of the court is to review cases and matters that have been appealed from the district courts that are part of the court's jurisdiction.

Svea Court of Appeal consists of eight adjudicating departments and an administrative unit. The administrative unit includes, among others, a service section where those working with internal services are included. The section includes court attendants (security guards), support technicians, caretakers, and administrators for lay judge support.

Job Responsibilities

The position as a security guard/court attendant involves a varied job with diverse tasks where the emphasis is on preventive security work and service for the court's staff as well as parties and others visiting the court. We value and place great importance on utilizing each other's strengths in the group through good cooperation, problem-solving, and clear communication.

Your main job responsibilities include:

  • Staffing of security control.
  • Staffing at the reception which includes handling incoming matters and providing service to visitors.
  • Ensuring the court's work and premises regarding order, security, and fire protection.
  • Handling alarms, access control systems, and CCTV.
  • Administrative tasks such as audio copying, planning, and distribution of courtrooms for upcoming hearings.
  • Assisting with technical support in courtrooms.
  • Conducting internal training in courtroom technology and security.
  • Internal services such as mail handling, furniture arrangement, and preparation of workspaces are not commonly included but may be part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Swedish citizenship.
  • Valid security guard license with authorization for security control.
  • High school education or equivalent education with experience that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Normal color vision (as work with x-ray equipment requires this).
  • Previous experience from working in a court with knowledge of relevant administrative tasks.
  • You need to have completed police training for security control and may need training for x-ray if you have not already completed it.
  • Previous experience with video conferencing technology, CCTV, and alarm management.

As you will be working in a team with other court attendants, it is important that you have very good collaboration and communication skills and the ability to view tasks and situations from a holistic perspective. You enjoy being part of a team and spread positive energy.

The work involves many internal and external contacts, which requires a high degree of maturity, service ability, and clarity in your communication. Furthermore, it is important that you have your own drive and initiative as well as being responsible. You are structured, have good administrative and planning skills, and are technically interested.

Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
