Your role and responsibilities

Are you a strategic leader passionate about operational excellence and driving impactful change? As Local Division Operations Manager at ABB Energy Industries in Sweden, you will play a key role in shaping the future of clean energy by optimizing project execution and service delivery. You will lead operations across the entire value chain—overseeing project management, engineering, field services, procurement, logistics, and commercial management—to ensure seamless, high-quality delivery that exceeds customer expectations.

Responsibilities in the role:

• Develop and execute a customer-focused operations strategy aligned with overall business and functional goals.

• Ensure a sustainable and effective value chain from supplier to customer and from order to delivery.

• Ensure on-time and on-margin project execution, delivering project and service profitability and cash conversion.

• Build and maintain a strong and learning Operations community, with required competence and optimal capacity to manage ABB’s commitments as well as championing a culture of continuous improvement across the Operations organization.

• Develop and continuously improve business processes and procedures to enhance customer satisfaction.

• Deploy and manage project and service management systems for execution and delivery.

• Develop and manage rolling forecasts for projects and service execution.

• Manage quality assurance, quality control, and implement an integrated quality management system.

• Assess risks and safety hazards, implementing plans to ensure the safety of people and equipment.

• Ensure our performance meets our contractual obligations and manage customer expectations, as well as internal stakeholders.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ of experience in leading complex operations within project execution, service delivery, or supply chain management, preferably in the energy, industrial, or engineering sectors. Experience in managing large, diverse teams and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Deep understanding of project execution, engineering processes, procurement, logistics, and contract/commercial management. Ability to drive end-to-end operational efficiency from supplier to customer.
  • Experience in developing and executing operational strategies that align with business goals. Strong ability to manage financial performance, ensuring project profitability, cash conversion, and cost optimization.
  • A solid grasp of HSE standards, industry regulations, and governance requirements. Ability to champion a culture of integrity, risk management, and sustainability.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across functions, business areas, and global teams. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to align internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and senior management.
