ABOUT THE POSITION:

Friday is looking for a junior strategic buyer on behalf of a client in the defense industry. In this role, you will work with contract procurement, supplier contacts, and purchases related to production environments. The role involves some travel, primarily within Sweden and Northern Europe. You will have the opportunity to plan your trips and visits to ensure that suppliers meet our requirements.

Examples of tasks:

• Assist in procurements and contract negotiations with suppliers both locally and internationally.
• Conduct supplier visits to follow up on quality and capacity requirements.
• Support the development of strategies for purchasing components and products for surface combatants.
• Contribute to ensuring that supplier collaborations align with business goals and project requirements.
• Plan and execute trips to suppliers and shipyards to build long-term relationships.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO:

We are looking for a driven person who wants to develop within strategic purchasing. If you have experience from the production industry, it is an advantage, but the most important thing is that you are eager to learn and take on significant responsibility. To succeed in the role, you should:

• Have a university degree in supply chain, economics, engineering, or similar. Relevant work experience can replace formal education.
• Have experience in strategic purchasing, preferably from the engineering industry.
• Have experience in supplier negotiations and contract procurement.
• Enjoy being in the field and have a desire to combine office work with practical work at suppliers and production facilities.
• Have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• Be a team player ready to build strong supplier relationships and manage contract negotiations.

We are looking for someone who is structured and meticulous, but also curious and interested in developing in a production-oriented environment. Previous experience, e.g., from summer jobs in purchasing or relevant fields, is an advantage.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For the position, our client has requirements for security classification, which may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
