Wasaskolan is located next to large green areas with a newly renovated schoolyard for recreational activities. Inside, you will find a well-maintained equipped school with bright classrooms and ample natural light, as well as a brand new cafeteria. We also have a nice school library with a trained librarian where students can sit and read or borrow books. Wasaskolan is a F-9 school with approximately 520 students and an adapted primary school that will be expanded from grades 7-9 to grades 4-9. Here, you will meet a large student health team, good administration, and maintenance staff. Everything is designed to provide you as a teacher with the best support around the classroom and teaching. Together, we who work at the school form a strength of about 80 staff members. We are now looking for a qualified teacher who, together with our staff in the adapted primary school, will start grades 4-6 in new premises. Our students study subjects and subject areas.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the entire teaching process together with other teachers for the students who study subject areas and those who study subjects. You understand the importance of teaching being creative and stimulating, while also being based on research and proven methods. You plan, organize, and carry out the teaching individually and together with your colleagues. You are flexible and have good collaboration skills and a willingness to work with other staff to help students reach their full potential. Together with others, you create a classroom environment characterized by safety, trust, and respect.

Teachers in the adapted primary school are part of a work team where you, together with your colleagues, plan, teach, guide, and document according to the curriculum.
You organize and lead lessons that are adapted for students within IF and the autism spectrum to provide good conditions for learning. You work closely with colleagues regarding teaching and planning of activities.

Requirements:
- You are a licensed primary school teacher
- You have a special education degree with a focus on intellectual disabilities
- You have knowledge and experience of alternative augmentative communication with sign language support as well as compensatory teaching materials.
- You are well acquainted with the adapted primary school curriculum
- You have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

Meritorious:
- You can work with and write additional adaptations within the adapted primary school area
- Several years of experience in the profession
- Teaching license
