Internationella Engelska Skolan Krokslätt in Gothenburg is an established free school that started in 2010. In August 2024, we will move to a fantastic new school building at Änggårdsbergen where we will also expand our operations and change the school's name to IES Södra Änggården. In the 24/25 school year, we will be a three-parallel F-7 school and then grow to become an F-9 school by 2026. We are now looking for you who want to be part of our new adventure!

Our operations rest on three pillars:

* bilingualism (SV/ENG)

* calm and safe school environment

* high academic expectations.

Our profile is English, and up to 50% of the teaching is conducted in English from grade 3 and upwards. The language is gradually introduced in the younger ages. We work on language development according to a method called Reading to Learn; if you have experience with this or similar, it is an advantage.

At IES Södra Änggården, all adults are there for the students, where good relationships with students, staff, and guardians are the foundation of our work. It is important for us that you are an engaged and competent role model who continuously wants to contribute to developing the pedagogical work of the organization together with your colleagues. At IES Södra Änggården, the students are the most important thing we have, and you as an educator need to be driven and flexible to give the students the best schooling they can have. We have close contact with guardians and expect you to be positive and engaged in all aspects concerning our students during their time at school.

We have clear rules and expectations for both students and staff to ensure a conducive study environment and good knowledge acquisition. As an educator, you will be part of a fantastic team with staff from all over the world, where everyone can contribute with their different competencies. The working language among colleagues is primarily English.

We are part of the organization Internationella Engelska Skolan i Sverige AB (IES), which is one of Sweden's leading free schools with 48 different schools in Sweden. Internationella Engelska Skolan follows the Swedish curriculum (upcoming LGR22).

We are looking for someone who wants to work as a teaching assistant with our students in need of support in school.

Qualifications description:

We want you to be proactive, positive, and have a strong work ethic. It is also important that you are a good and reliable team player. Here, there is an opportunity to work in an international and stimulating environment where engagement, professionalism, and the English language are common denominators. Experience with NPF diagnoses is a requirement.

The position involves working with a student in high school to support academic work and social contacts. Swedish and English are required, and experience from adapted primary school is an advantage, alternatively working with students who have attended integrated adapted primary school.

We look forward to your application. A police record check is required for work in schools, and such a check will be conducted in connection with employment. Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
