UNG I EKERÖ MUNICIPALITY works professionally and purposefully for a safe, equal, developing, fun, and meaningful leisure time together with the municipality's children and youth aged 10-18 years.

The unit consists of three leisure clubs that together have about 800 placed children, as well as three youth centers that offer both open and organized activities. One of the youth centers is adapted for young people with special needs. UNG I EKERÖ MUNICIPALITY also offers location-independent activities that are shaped based on the initiatives of young people and take place in various locations. We conduct outreach work primarily within schools and associations, where our outgoing leisure leaders, field assistants, and youth coordinators work at universal, selective, and indicated levels. Social media is an important part of our work to reach and engage young people.

Job Description

We are now looking for an Outgoing Leisure Leader for one of our units. We actively work to ensure that Ung in Ekerö Municipality is a safe meeting place for everyone, with room for personal development and social interaction. It is important to us that children and young people feel acknowledged, safe, and involved. The staff group has a common approach where a health-promoting perspective permeates the operations. Within our activities, we actively work with CPS (Collaborative Problem Solving).

As an Outgoing Leisure Leader, you will be visible in various places where children and young people are. Part of the job involves being present in the municipality's primary schools during mornings and conducting outreach work, school events, etc. Other tasks include planning and implementing activities, building relationships with children, youth, and adults, participating in our work environment efforts, and attending meetings.

You will be part of a workgroup that collectively and individually plans and implements activities with children at the leisure club during afternoons and with youth in the evenings.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who wants to help develop the unit's operations, who is creative and has their own ideas. You are eager to implement ideas together with others, but you also have the ability to work independently. You have a health-promoting perspective and can see the needs of children and young people. Furthermore, you have a good ability to engage both children, youth, and colleagues. Being outgoing and socially active comes naturally to you as you are skilled at creating sustainable relationships. We also appreciate a norm-critical perspective.

To succeed in this role, you should:

• be an educated leisure leader or have another education that the employer deems equivalent
• have previous experience working with youth

Additionally, you need to have:

• an ease in building networks, communicating, and marketing our activities
• the ability to plan and shape operations together with supervisors, colleagues, children, and youth
• good computer skills, knowledge of social media, and the ability to visualize theory into practice
• the ability to take initiative and follow up on the activities you lead
• good ability to lead children and youth in daily work
• the ability to see the individual, group, and whole and to prioritize for the benefit of the operations
• good ability to work individually

We also appreciate if you have experience working with youth in their leisure time and if you have some form of personal interest that you can introduce into the activities. If you have specific knowledge, e.g., in ANT (Alcohol, Narcotics, Tobacco) or are trained in MVP (mentor in violence prevention) or have knowledge/interest in another area, such as music or similar, there is room to shape the position based on that knowledge.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
