At the Helsingborg District Court, around 90 people work. The operations are conducted in pleasant and modern premises in central Helsingborg. The court is divided into three adjudicating divisions and one administrative division. Each adjudicating division is led by a chief judge. Approximately 25 people work in each division as part of a team consisting of judges, legal advisors, case managers, court clerks, and judicial assistants. The administrative division works with finance and HR issues, security, registration of new cases and matters, as well as the dispatch of judgments and decisions. We are now looking for one or more court clerks for the adjudicating division.
Desired Competence and Profile
We are looking for someone who has an interest in society and particularly the role of the court. You will work in a team with other court clerks and in close collaboration with judges, legal advisors, and judicial assistants in the division. Therefore, you need to have good collaboration skills. To thrive with us, you need to handle various tasks, people, and situations and have the ability to analyze and solve problems. During periods of high workload, your ability to structure, prioritize, and plan your work is especially important. We have high expectations that you are responsible, meticulous, self-driven, and have good judgment.
You have:
- high school diploma or equivalent education.
- very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
- good experience working with computers and digital working methods.
It may be advantageous if you have:
- post-secondary education in law, criminology, social sciences, or behavioral sciences.
- paralegal education.
- experience in case management/preparation, especially valuable if this experience is from work within the court or any of the authorities we interact with daily in our work, such as the Prosecution Authority, Police Authority, and Correctional Services.
- additional language skills beyond Swedish.
Tasks of Court Clerks
At the Helsingborg District Court, court clerks work in the adjudicating divisions with criminal cases, civil cases, and court matters. The main tasks are to:
- prepare and manage cases for hearings
- register and review documents
- monitor deadlines
- plan and summon for hearings
- appoint public defenders
- decide on personal investigations and obtain information from social services
- maintain contact with parties, representatives, and authorities
- take notes and minutes during hearings
- write proposals for judgments and decisions
- dispatch decisions
Employment Conditions
The court applies individual salary setting. The employment is full-time and begins with a six-month probationary period.
