The Adult Education is a large workplace with about 170 staff and we educate approximately 3,300 adult students annually. Our team consists of 17 health and care teachers. Adult Education offers courses and training at basic and upper secondary level.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you want to be part of making Gävle competent-rich and work to educate our future nursing assistant students in health and care? Our students will in the future make significant and important care contributions for us and for our society. We are now looking for a health and care teacher for adult education. Our teaching team in health and care consists of 17 teachers who annually teach about 450 students who will become the future nursing assistants. We work according to a collegial learning approach that has become a natural part of our work, which is a prerequisite for further development. We strive for a formative approach in teaching where digital tools and language development are part of the learning process.

Your main task as a teacher consists of teaching subjects within the health and care program. You will have student responsibility and work with teaching where you plan, implement, and evaluate lessons within your specific vocational subjects. In your role as a teacher, you will teach both individual students and entire groups. The work is carried out according to established goals and guidelines. You work based on the curriculum and various course syllabi. Your tasks also include mentorship and collaborating with your colleagues to design a good, enjoyable, and varied school day with the students' best interests in focus. You challenge and support students so that they achieve good study results.

Your tasks include planning and implementing training, and you will also assess and grade students who are part of the health and care education. Plan and conduct various methodological exercises before students go out on practical training (APL). In your assignment, you will provide support and individualize teaching so that your students meet the knowledge requirements and achieve good knowledge development. As a teacher with us, you will be involved in the development work of the organization, currently focusing on validation but also on adult learning and apprenticeships. Teaching takes place at the school but can also be conducted remotely or through recorded lessons. The position is a seasonal employment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse and has at least five years of experience in the profession. For the role of care teacher, we consider it important that you can express yourself well in the Swedish language in both speech and writing. It is an advantage for the position if you are a licensed vocational teacher in health and care or if you have previously taught as a care teacher either through adult education or high school. We also prefer candidates with knowledge and experience of digital systems and the curriculum and who have taught remotely before.

As a person, you are flexible and can adapt to different situations. You can take your own initiatives, are courageous, and have the ability to distinguish between issues and individuals. Leading and motivating students and helping them feel comfortable and well is something you work with daily and do with great skill. Additionally, you are good at structuring and planning your work. You are adept at creating an open dialogue and adapting your language according to the current situation.

As a person, you have the ability to make students feel a sense of belonging and inclusion. Furthermore, you create trusting relationships and help others feel secure. You see the whole picture and can identify areas for improvement in the organization that affect students' health, development, and goal achievement. Collaboration is important as you are part of a larger care team. You are unpretentious in your collaboration with others such as colleagues, citizens, and other stakeholders. You are solution-oriented and have the ability to find alternative solutions to emerging problems.
