Solängsskolan is a K-6 school in central Gävle, close to Boulognerskogen, Fjärran Höjderbadet, and Gävle Concert Hall. Our goal is to provide every student from preschool to grade 6 with the best possible conditions to succeed in school.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to develop students' skills in handicrafts and have the opportunity to teach in a modern workshop where all three techniques meet? Then we have the job for you! Come and make Gävle inspiring together with us at Solängsskolan!

As a handicraft teacher for grades 3-6, you will work with instruction, planning, implementation, and evaluation of lessons. The work is carried out according to established goals and guidelines. You will work alongside a qualified colleague, and together you will design a good, enjoyable, and varied school day with the students' best interests in focus. You will challenge and support the students so that they achieve good study results. The work is done in collaboration with other educators, student health, guardians, and other actors outside the school.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed teacher with qualifications to teach handicrafts - textiles, wood, and metal in grades 3-6. This means you are familiar with and knowledgeable about the curriculum for primary school. It is important that you can express yourself well in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, and that you also have knowledge of and experience with digital tools such as Office and Unikum.

We are looking for someone who takes initiative in social contexts and is skilled at building trusting relationships. You have an unpretentious approach in your collaboration with others. Furthermore, you are good at leading and motivating students, ensuring they feel comfortable, well, and a sense of belonging. You also have a good ability to provide students with advice, support, and opportunities for development.

As a handicraft teacher, it is important that you work in a structured manner, can prioritize effectively, and use resources to achieve the best results. By nature, you are curious, creative, and open to new solutions.

As a final candidate, you must be able to present a criminal record check from the police for work in schools or preschools. This should not be included in your application.
