Medical technology is part of Medical Physics and Technology (MFT), which is Region Kronoberg's expert function in radiation safety and medical technology safety. We provide technical support for medical equipment used in the region's hospitals and health centers as well as in the municipalities of the county. We are involved in the entire lifecycle of the equipment, from planning and purchasing to decommissioning. We manage, among other things, ECG, patient monitoring, operating tables, X-ray equipment, and equipment in home care. The work is carried out in close collaboration with healthcare staff and internal support functions as well as with our external partners. The department's staff is placed at both hospitals in the county but works across the region.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who wants to work with technical support in healthcare and act as a link between technology and care. You will work with medical equipment in patient-facing environments and contribute to ensuring that healthcare equipment and systems function correctly, are safe to use, and meet user requirements.

We offer an exciting job, close to the core activities and professional groups in healthcare. Your responsibilities include performing corrective and preventive maintenance and providing technical support to users. This involves repairing and maintaining equipment, participating in procurement, implementation, risk analysis, training of healthcare staff, development of care, quality and safety-related work, and technical advice.

The work spans a wide technological area from electronics, data systems/networks, imaging technology to mechanics and gas. This offers great development opportunities and room for skills development in several areas for you as an employee. Service and maintenance in all relevant technical areas are included. Within MFT, we continuously develop our skills with equipment and system training, and as an employee, you will benefit from the following training:

• Medical technology safety including electrical safety (MTF or LIU)
• Measurement technology and quality (RISE)
• ESD

In addition, a number of device-specific training sessions are provided by suppliers and are required to perform service on equipment. MFT is working on quality certifying the operations, and we expect you to also become an active part of that work!

Your primary placement will be at the Central Hospital in Växjö, but travel in the service to Ljungby Hospital and health centers in the county may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for the position, you have:

• a university degree in engineering, preferably in medical technology, electronics, or IT
• or a technical education at the high school level or equivalent knowledge obtained in another way.

A driver's license (B) is a requirement for employment, as well as proficiency in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written. A large part of the equipment fleet is part of the region's IT infrastructure, which makes good IT skills an advantage. Work experience in medical technology, radiography, or MRI is also an advantage, as is certification as a medical engineer.

Your personal qualities are important to us! To succeed in the role, you need to be able to take initiative, be proactive, and plan your workday in an efficient and structured way. The work requires that you are meticulous and enjoy tasks of varying nature. You need to be comfortable working independently but also have the ability to collaborate in a team, as our combined competence is crucial to providing the best possible service. Communicating, building good relationships, and creating trust with clinicians and suppliers are therefore of great importance, as is a genuine interest in technology.
