An exciting position with varied tasks distributed across two school libraries and the main library. The role involves contact and collaboration with schools and libraries, where you will work with both adults and children as borrowers.

Librarian

Responsibilities

Your work consists of borrower guidance and reference work. Database and information searching. Purchasing and organizing media. Responsible for the website and social media. Requirement management, book setup, and other tasks occurring in the library. Book talks and similar arrangements also take place. Evening and weekend work may occur. We consider it essential that you have an interest in working with children and young people, and that you want to develop the library's educational role. You also have a strong interest in and good knowledge of children's and young adult literature and see information searching and critical thinking as important parts of your work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in library and information science or another higher education that the employer considers equivalent. We prefer that you have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing and possess good computer skills. You are interested in working with reading promotion activities for all ages. A driver's license (B) is desirable. Previous experience in similar tasks is an advantage. Experience with BOOK-IT is also an advantage. We are looking for someone who is proactive and self-driven, with a holistic view focused on the best interests of the organization. You have good collaboration skills, listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. You are service-oriented, empathetic, calm, and accommodating in your interactions. You have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others and strive to deliver solutions.
