Systems Engineer with a focus on Cybersecurity

About the Unit

FMTIS has twelve units, five of which perform maintenance of the Armed Forces' command systems within IT and telecommunications. The Operations Unit is one of them. The unit works with the operation of the Armed Forces' telecommunications network as well as with installation, operation, and maintenance of various IT systems. The unit has departments that work with the operation of infrastructure and systems where we are also technical specialists in these areas.

Cyberattacks are ongoing, and the Cybersecurity Department is part of the Armed Forces' increasing ambitions in the cyber arena. Our task includes ensuring that the systems have the right security level and that no unwanted activity occurs in our systems.

We are a department that constantly develops our staff through further education to provide support and development. Job Responsibilities

As a systems engineer in the Cybersecurity Department, you have an important role where you, together with your colleagues, develop security products in operationally related systems. The work includes the development of SIEM or other security-related products as well as work around detection. Job responsibilities include carrying out development and technical maintenance work of log analysis tools and configuration of system components. There are great career opportunities within the cybersecurity field.

Qualifications

• 3-year education, preferably with a focus on IT or equivalent technical knowledge
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing
• Good Linux knowledge
• Swedish citizenship
• B driver's license

Desirable Qualifications

• Several years of experience in IT-related tasks, preferably within a larger operations organization
• Experience with various security products
• Network knowledge
• Programming skills

We also see that you are analytical, have good collaboration skills, and can express yourself well in both speech and writing. You should enjoy sharing your experience with others while remaining curious to learn new things for further development. We would like you to have experience in IT operations with complex environments, and there are good opportunities for skill development in the cybersecurity field.

The position is a permanent employment as a civilian employee and begins with a 6-month probationary period for those who are not employed within the Armed Forces.
