Project Engineer at Heidelberg Materials in Slite
Heidelberg Materials' cement plant in Slite is transitioning to become one of the world's first cement plants to produce cement with net zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2030. About the department
The project department currently consists of a project manager and five project engineers. The Slite plant continuously makes extensive investments each year to ensure operations and to drive the development of production, environment, and working conditions forward.
Your role
The Slite plant offers a challenging position in a dynamic environment within technical project management. The projects driven at the plant often have a mechanical engineering focus, which includes the installation of complex transportation solutions and process-related equipment. As a project engineer, you will work closely with both internal and external resources to execute the projects. Internal contacts include the production department, maintenance department, and mechanical and electrical design. External contacts consist of contractors and suppliers. Within the corporation, there is a technical support team that assists with advice and knowledge for advanced projects.
In addition, the role also includes:
- Responsible for PDM system
- Support the department with drawing reviews
- Coordinate consultants in design
- Identify and analyze new ideas and projects.
- Collaborate and build relationships with relevant stakeholders within the plant.
- Technical and commercial evaluation of offers.
- Project lead and coordinate both large and small projects from initiation to completion.
- Have budget and timeline responsibility for the projects.
- Coordinate and lead project resources, both internal and external.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a university degree in mechanical engineering or similar and documented experience as a project manager. You are a structured and results-oriented person with the ability to work independently in an environment that requires significant collaboration. Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is a requirement, as well as holding a B driver's license. Previous experience working in SAP or project management tool MS Project is an advantage.
