A role with breadth, variety, and development opportunities

Do you want to work on a ward where no two days are alike? Where you can combine inpatient care with outpatient work and be part of both the patient's acute care and long-term health?

We are now looking for a nurse for a combined role between the Orthopedics/ENT ward 81/82 and the Osteoporosis Clinic in Skövde.

About the operations

Ward 81/82 is primarily an orthopedic care ward with both emergency and planned activities. Here, we care for patients with, for example, fractures and back pain, as well as patients within ear, nose, and throat care, eye care, and jaw surgery.

The combination of several specialties provides varied and stimulating work where you have the opportunity to build broad clinical competence.

We work in a person-centered way with a focus on patient safety, rehabilitation, and patient participation. In daily work, we use nursing rounds, structured head-to-toe assessments, and bedside rounds to create safe and secure care.

The Osteoporosis Clinic – preventing the next fracture

Right next to the ward is the Osteoporosis Clinic, where we work to identify, investigate, and follow up patients with osteoporosis and bone fragility-related fractures.

As a nurse, you will be an important part of the work as a fracture coordinator. You identify patients who may be suitable for investigation, coordinate the care chain between the hospital and primary care, and follow up patients according to the national care program for osteoporosis.

At the clinic, bone density measurements are performed using DXA, and the work is carried out in close collaboration with doctors, physiotherapists, and primary care to prevent future fractures and contribute to safe and cohesive care.

You are never alone

Here, you work closely with nursing assistants, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other professions. As support in your work, we also have:

  • A SAMSA coordinator who supports discharge processes and collaboration
  • Competence support within the operations' working methods
  • A pharmacist who provides support with medication-related issues

This gives you good conditions to focus on the patient and develop in your profession.

We are looking for you who

Are a registered nurse and want to work in an operation where collaboration, development, and the patient's needs are at the center.

You are confident in your professional role, have good collaboration skills, and enjoy switching between independent work and teamwork. You are curious about developing your competence and see opportunities in working both on the care ward and the clinic.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Why you should choose us

  • Combination of inpatient care and outpatient work
  • Broad competence in orthopedics, ENT, eyes, and jaw surgery
  • Opportunity to work with both emergency care and preventive health care
  • Person-centered care with rehabilitation and patient safety in focus
  • Strong interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Good opportunities for competence development

Welcome to a workplace where you get to follow the patient through several parts of the care chain – from treatment and rehabilitation to preventive measures for the future.
