About the Department

The Education Department is responsible for preschool, pedagogical care, after-school centers, preschool class, primary school, adapted primary school, upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, municipal adult education, Komvux (special education for adults), Swedish for Immigrants (SFI), youth clubs, open preschool, and music school.

Preschool and after-school activities are available at all seven F-6 schools, geographically distributed throughout the municipality.

Altorpskolan, the municipality's only 7-9 school, receives students from all our F-6 schools and is strategically located in central Herrljunga. Kunskapskällan, the municipality's upper secondary school, is also located in Herrljunga town.

The school and after-school center are located in Od, near the church and the book café, with proximity to forests and surrounded by fields. There are approximately 25 students at the after-school center, and we work closely together with the school and teachers.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher at the after-school center, you are responsible for planning, implementing, following up on, and developing the center's activities in accordance with the curriculum (Lgr22), the Education Act, and the core values of the after-school center. You will create a meaningful, safe, and stimulating environment where the students' development, learning, and well-being are at the center.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with teachers, student health services, and other staff to create a holistic approach to student learning and development.
• Maintaining good dialogue with guardians regarding the students' well-being and development.
• Contributing to a professional and solution-oriented work team where experiences and competencies are shared.

This position is combined with other work at the school.

Qualifications

You should have good knowledge of the curriculum's goals and tasks for the after-school center. We are looking for someone who can translate regulatory documents into practical activities, as well as possess strong relationship-building and communication skills.

We also value:

• The ability to lead groups and create engaging learning situations.
• The ability to work independently while contributing to the school's collective development.
• Knowledge of Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NPF) and the attitudes and working methods needed to support students with these challenges.

Employment Terms

Type of employment: Fixed-term employment.

Duration: 3–6 months.

Start date: August 17, 2026, or by agreement.

End date: Fixed-term employment until December 18, 2026.

Full-time work is the norm in Herrljunga Municipality, with the possibility of part-time work. If a full-time position is not available, the role may be combined with other tasks or located at another workplace.
